Looking into the characteristics of the "alien" beings described in the Caponi Italy 1993 / Varginha Brazil 1996 and other sighting reports, it seems possible that such beings have been reported all over the world and at different times, but given different names. Various regional names (Chupacabras, Kappa, Jersey Devil, Kalanoro etc) hide the fact they all resemble eachother in their humanoid body plan, bipedal posture, number of digits (3), small arms, long legs, facial characteristics, aquatic habits, feeding habits etc.
A few days ago I stumbled upon a "Varginha Diary" article (undated) by Newton Augusto, who independently arrived at the idea that the Varginha beings could have been water-based:
"the idea of these creatures being water based comes from various aspects put together: [house-servant working for a military officer] witnessed video where the captured beings were seen inside water tanks. Membranes between fingers. Creature kept wrapped in wet sheets. The alien was seen at the zoo on a location just a few meters from the lake. Skin looking wet - amphibious like."
Article Source A US researcher says he has "definitely" found the lost civilisation of Atlantis in the watery deep off Cyprus, adding his theory to a mystery which has baffled explorers for centuries.
Robert Sarmast says a Mediterranean basin was flooded in a deluge about 9,000 BC, submerging a rectangular land mass he believes was Atlantis.
The land mass now lies 1.5 kilometres beneath sea level between Cyprus and Syria.
"We have definitely found it," said Mr Sarmast, who led a team of explorers 80 kilometres off the south-east coast of Cyprus this month.
He says deep water sonar scanning has indicated man-made structures - including a three-kilometre-long wall, a walled hill summit and deep trenches - on a submerged hill.
Truth when broken down into its basic elements comprises of Logic, Common Sense and Circumstantial Evidence. Logic is the principles of reasoning, especially of the structure of propositions as distinguished from their content and of method and validity in deductive reasoning. Common sense is sound judgment. Circumstantial evidence is relating to, or dependent on circumstances or physical evidence. All three elements have to coincide with each other for it to be the truth.
The Gods of Eden is a book which was published over 10 years ago. Many people who read it at the time rejected it because much of what it says goes against orthodox teachings. With all that I have researched this doesn’t surprise me at all. People are basing their beliefs on what they have been taught and often the societal system reinforces those teachings. When the truth does come out it is mocked just as Arthur Schopenhauer said. Many people have suffered because of this. The life story of Galileo is an example.
In the southern part of the Aegean sea, off the south-eastern coast of mainland Greece and east of the Peloponnesus peninsula, lies the island archipelago of the Cyclades (pronounced "kick-lah-des"). It is composed of over 200 islands ranging in area from a few hundred meters to over 400 square kilometers (240 square miles), and nestled together in a relatively small region. The impression one gets when flying over the entire complex at high altitude is of looking at a puddle that some playful child threw sand and rocks in.
The Cyclades are located in a highly active geological region, at the very meeting point of the African and Eurasian tectonic plates in the north-eastern Mediterranean. The continual subduction activity there formed a sea-floor in the Aegean, which differs greatly from the rest of the Mediterranean, its "parent" sea - the latter is mostly smooth, while the former is dominated by underwater mountains and deep trenches.
All of the islands are the visible tops of submerged mountains, except for two which were created by ancient volcanic eruptions - Milos, and the famous Santorini (Thera). And there is another island which is a notable exception in the area, a place whose Ancient Mystery is begging to be unraveled today.
The first time I ever met James Mills was at the Dallas airport. I was on my way back to Roatan, Honduras to hopefully locate a pirate treasure, which I believed to be buried on the island. Little did I know at the time that the story I was about to hear, if true, could lead to one of the greatest discoveries in all of Mayan archaeology. Mills and I left the airport and got into his car. We headed off to some small Texas restaurant to discuss his project. He seemed very secretive about it the whole time. He chain smoked cigarettes as he drove down the highway, and started telling me how he first got involved with this project four years ago.
He had taken a trip to the south of Belize to do some exploring for Mayan ruins, deep in the jungles behind a Mayan city called Lubantan. The city's fame comes from the discovery of the crystal skull by explorer Mitchell Hedges. Mills said that he started to hack his way through the jungle for several miles before becoming exhausted.
This is the fourth of a number of Book of THoTH interviews with the speakers at the Symposium Conference 2006 . This being with Nick Redfern. Questions by THoTH and Oddthings.
BoT : Welcome to the interview Mr. Redfern.
NR : Thanks for inviting me to take part.
BoT : You are a prolific writer on a wide range of topics, from UFO’s to cryptozoology. Can you tell us what was it that began your interest in the paranormal, i.e. the first influences and why that got you interested?
NR : Well, as far as cryptozoology is concerned, when I was about 5 years old, my parents took me to Loch Ness. We were on holiday in Scotland at the time. And they told me about what was supposed to be in the Loch and it really got my interest - even at that age! I remember being a little kid at school asking the teacher why they didn’t have any books in the school library on werewolves, Bigfoot, etc. I think the teachers viewed me as a weird little Damien-type character and left me alone...
Hello again, everybody! This is Lonecat whizzing through space on his second orbit of good old Earth. Yes, I suppose you could say that I am “far out” as each orbit takes a week, during which I have time to get a good view of events in space both near and far.
This orbit has been quite exciting, not least for the confirmation, at long last, of the existence of water on the planet Mars. It has long been considered that water must exist on Mars, in view of visible changes in the sides of craters which match those caused by water activity on Earth and you have only to take a look at the vast number of “dry creeks and rivers to deduce that water must have existed, at least in the past, even thousands of years ago. But no: water not only has existed on Mars but it still exists there in the form of ice and water vapour.
Phantom images swirled in his dreamscape, walking on clouds of electrically charged green fluff. She was there. Taunting and banishing him with a pointing finger to some further nether region of his confused mind. Her other hand was rubbing her stomach to the expectancy of the new arrival.
He floated and drifted as if cursed, while shadowed faces gave him varied expressions of pity and contempt as he passed them by. He barely recognized some, while he knew others all too well. His high school gym teacher sped across his view, blowing fiercely on a silent whistle. His ex-girlfriend danced by so pretty like a medieval ballerina, twirling and smiling as she disappeared from sight. He should have made it work with her. He had loved her so much. Then none of this mess would have happened and his life wouldn’t feel so utterly wasted and destroyed.
What are dreams? Are they simply the result of the subconscious mind processing all the information that the brain had stored for the day or days? Or is it more than that? These are some of the questions that are repeatedly asked but few have satisfactorily answered. Now I don’t claim to have the answer to these questions, in fact, by the time you finish reading this article, you might even have more questions then before. What I’m trying to accomplish in this article is simply this; I’m going to try and devise a theory about dreams and their significance, along with what might cause a more lucid dream to occur.
Let’s hypothesize for a second that dreams are not only the manifestations of the subconscious mind processing data. Let’s look at some of the legends that derive from holy books such as the Christian bible, which tells of the story of how the Angel Gabriel spoke to Joseph (husband of Mary) and told him through a dream that the child Mary was carrying was the Son of God. If this story is historically correct, and I say this because religions and their beliefs are just that, “Beliefs”, then this would prove that dreams are a lot more that data being processed. A brief observation by scientists with respect to dreams is as follows:

On February 25, 1942 mysterious objects appeared over the city of Los Angeles.
Thousands of citizens were very anxious and frightened. Not so long ago, only ten weeks earlier, in the morning of December 7, 1941, Japanese submarines and carrier-based planes attacked the US Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor. Nearby military airfields were also attacked by the Japanese planes.
Eight American battleships and 10 other naval vessels were sunk or badly damaged, almost 200 American aircraft were destroyed, and approximately 3,000 naval and military personnel were killed or wounded.
Everybody in town expected yet another attack of the Japanese planes and may be even an invasion from Japan. Especially because a Japanese submarine already surfaced 2500 yards off Ellwood, located about eight miles north of Santa Barbara, and fired continuously on gasoline-storage tanks in the vicinity.
