Background/History

Hailed as the founder of the first kingdom to be ever established on the island of Singapore, Sang Nila Utama is one of the many figures mentioned in the Malay Annals, a famous work of quasi-historical literature that describes the orgins of the dynasty founded by the Malay kings of Melaka, as well as the various fables surrounding their allies and descendents. A subject to be taken more seriously by the connosieurs of mythology rather than any proffesional historian, the orgins of this singular founding monarch certainly make for the former.
