From The Book of THoTH (Leaves of Wisdom)

Silver Surfer was created many millenia ago by Galacticus, an immense being with an insatiable appetite. Silver's task was to travel throughout the cosmos, finding worlds to feed his maker's hunger. He never had any regrets or second thoughts, this was the only purpose he knew. This all changed one fateful day, when he found Earth. The wonderful diversity of life on this small, blue planet made something awaken inside Silver. He knew then that it wasn't right to aid Galacticus in destroying worlds, so he vowed to fight to protect this gem.

In his spare time, though, he has become proficient at repairing printers, building PCs, and playing online games, with a keen interest in astronomy, plus the occasional visit to THoTH to help edit The Book.

If you've read this far, you've guessed that Silver also has a rather odd sense of humor.
